The Latin title Ad Parnassum translates as 'To Parnassus' and the artist was inspired to create this work by Bauhaus artist Paul Klee's 1932 painting of the same name. Daniel Belton (b.1970 NZ) founded Good Company Arts in 1997 with creative producer Doninne Harrison and has established an international reputation for innovation in the performing and visual arts. . With a research focus on 'the body and vision in the digital age', the company has been involved in performing arts, choreography, moving image, digital art, photography, sound art and design for the past 30 years. He is currently a PhD student in the School of Creative Arts at Massey University, Wellington, New Zealand, where his leadership has resulted in many projects combining digital and performing arts, including collaborations with the Royal New Zealand Ballet. His work in digital cinema, installation and live performance has been acclaimed in New Zealand, Australia, Europe, the US and Asia, and he is a recognised educator in the fields of choreography, film and multimedia arts.
